She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Sontham. Subsequent to that, she starred in the Tamil film "Yei" which featured the song "Arjuna Arjuna" along with actor Sarath Kumar.

She is from Surat, Gujarat. She participated in Miss India 2000, but could not win the competition. She claimed it was due to her bad English, she could not go on winning it. Though she was thin at the early stages of her film career, now she is famous for her voluptuousness.

* Namitha kapoor loves White and Black colors. White roses are her favorite flowers.
* Namitha swims and plays Badminton in her free time. Interestingly she used to coach swimming for kids.
