Sudigadu Review

Shiva (Allari Naresh) is born with a special Sudi and he wants to become a real hero. Due to an incident at the time of his birth, he gets separated from his parents (Allari Naresh, Hema) and he grows up with his grandma (Kovai Sarala) in Hyderabad. He grows up to be a smart man and here he falls in love with Priya (Monal).

A challenge with Priya’s father (Sayaji) makes Shiva a very rich man but at the time of marriage, he gets reminded of his parents. So, he goes to Seemapuram in search of his parents and this is the same place where factionist Thikkal Reddy (Jayaprakash Reddy) is waiting to take revenge.

Analysis

Attempting a spoof is not an ordinary thing and that too in an industry where there are so many big stars with such frenzy following. That way, director Bheemaneni must be appreciated for taking this project.

Of course, the film is a remake of the Tamil movie ‘Tamizh Padam’. As such, the maximum structure of the film has been taken from the original and even some of the scenes were the same but then a lot of nativity has been included. The sequences involving ‘Shiva’ ‘Robot’ ‘Businessman’ etc have been well made.

But then here is the drawback.

A spoof needs to have a strong screenplay and an energy which is continuous. Any drop in the momentum tends to disconnect the audience and that has happened in few critical sequences.

The other important point is, this will go well only with hardcore film buffs. For all genres of viewers to connect, they should have watched all the movies based on which the spoofs were made. So, regular audience might not be able to relate since it is a satire of many movies.

The first half breezes off decently and the comedy flavor is also high but the second half downslides due to the drag in scenes and somewhat unnecessary sequences.

But still, given the budget and the hype that got created, the film will reach a commercial success zone easily.
