Kavacham Movie Review

Release Date: Friday 7th December 2018

Cast: Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Kajal Aggarwal, Mehreen Pirzada, Mukesh Rishi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Harshavardhan Rane, Posani Krishna Murali, Satyam Rajesh and others

In the city of Vizag, Vijay (Bellamkonda Srinivas), an honest cop, plays a kidnap drama to bear medical expenses for his mother who injured severely in an accident. He kidnaps Samyukta (Mehreen), niece of an industrialist (Mukesh Rishi) and demands Rs 50 Lakhs.

It was fake kidnap drama as Samyukta herself gives him this idea. He gets the money and releases her at a bus stop thanking her profusely.

Twist in the tale is that she is not the real Samyukta, she took another girls identity (Kajal). Why What problems he has faced due to this twist

At first, Kavacham gives impression that it offers something new but pretty soon the momentum slips and it turns a boring affair.

Till the interval, the sequences proceed in awfully formulaic way. A police officer accidentally meeting a girl (Mehreen) and bringing her to his home when there is no one at his home is unrealistic. Even the romantic thread of Bellamkonda and Kajal is quite cliched.

The only interesting point is the interval bang. The director rests entire story on this flimsy sequence.

The basic story is quite old and the villains motto is also as old as Himalayas. What the new director has tried is playing with unnecessary tracks by bringing various characters. By the time he reveals the twists, it tests our patience.

All Bellamkonda Sai Srinivass movies are going in unoriginal way. He is not trying to offer something new or a film with strong script. This is another example.

Although the film turns interesting in at interval bang and holds interest for some moments post interval, the director has loosened the grip after that. It ends in stereotypical way.

Such mass movies work to an extent if songs are good. But here Thamans songs are utterly boring. There is no entertainment either.

All in all, Kavachaam is another regular, commercial action film from hero Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas that is full of cliched sequences.
