Visakhapatnam: It’s time to shift towards ‘green technology’ in Medicine to provide holistic treatment, avoid the adverse drug effects and improve the success ratio of the reproductive procedures, said Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Nageswara Rao.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the FOCUS-2016 — a national-level CME (continuous medical education) programme on the assisted reproductive technologies organised by the Krishna IVF Clinic here in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
Andhra University will take green technology as a major thrust area in future research studies. The green technology will pave way for holistic treatment. The human genome project may provide tools to understand the genetic factors in various medical conditions and may provide solutions to many unanswered medical questions, added Prof. Nageswara Rao.
Director of Krishna IVF Clinic, Dr G.A. Rama Raju, said that about 350 medical practitioners and health scientists participated in the meet covering the areas of diabetes and infertility, endometrium, DNA fragmentation, embryo whole genome sequencing and cell morphology.
We have been conducting the CME programme for the sixth year in a row. Programmes like these will help share knowledge among the reproductive health practitioners. The Medical Council of India will offer credits to the participants, he added. |
