Reacting to the court order rejecting his petition against Home Minister P Chidambaram, Janata Party President and 2G petitioner Subramanian Swamy said that he was surprised. Swamy said that he will now move High Court within three months against Special CBI Judge OP Saini's order in the 2G scam.
"I am surprised because my evidence against Chidambaram was complete," Swamy claimed.
He, however, maintained that he was not disappointed by the dismissal of his plea. "This is a part of the game. I am not disappointed because I am expecting the order to be reserved when I appeal in higher court," Swamy said.
The role of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in the 2G spectrum allocation scam will not be investigated, a Delhi court ruled on Saturday. While dismissing the petition by Swamy Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge OP Saini said that no case can be made out against Chidambaram in the 2G scam.
Swamy refused to comment on the details of the two-line order given by Judge OP Saini and said, "I will make a long statement on Sunday after reading the judgement."
Swamy stuck to his stand that Chidambaram should be called co-accused in the 2G scam. He questioned, "Both Chidambaram and A Raja made decisions, how can Chidambaram be vindicated in one court?"
He also said that he will provide more evidence in the higher court if need be.
Swamy had moved the Supreme Court seeking a probe against former finance minister and current Home Minister P Chidambaram. The apex court referred the matter back to the trial court on Thursday.
Swamy had argued that Chidambaram should be called a co-accused in the spectrum scam along with former telecom minister A Raja.
