At a time when BCCI’s back are to the wall, Former IPL Chief Lalit Modi lashed out at the Indian cricket body stating that the IPL is being run on the whips and fancies of a select few after his ouster.
During an interview to a private channel, Modi said that the IPL is not a level playing field for the new franchises.
“It is not a level playing field and the rules are being changed for some team”.
Regarding the auction fiasco and Sahara pull out, Modi said, it is because of the rule changes such scenarios are cropping up. If he was still in charge of IPL the auctions would not have taken place. He also targeted the Mumbai Indians franchise and the Chennai outfit saying that the rules changes have very much favoured for both the franchises in the IPL.
Few days back Modi had tweeted criticising the behaviour of the BCCI big wigs.
"Sahara termination - shows how unhappy the major sponsor and franchise owner is with the way BCCI deals with its partners. This is really a sad day. Sahara has been sports biggest supporter and pillar," Modi wrote on his twitter page.
"It’s a black day for Indian Cricket. All due to One ego maniac. Wonder how we allow that to continue. It will ruin cricket completely," read another tweet.
